Sarah C. Aviles, Esq., Fairfax, VA
I initially joined VAELA in my third year of law school upon the advice of a long-time member. At the time, I had not yet determined the type of law I wanted to focus on in my career. VAELA was a vast resource of information and provided me with ample opportunities to connect with and learn from experienced elder law attorneys. I have benefited from the UnProgram and the numerous educational resources VAELA provides for over a decade since I joined. Therefore, I chose to volunteer with the VAELA Education Committee and to teach courses at several of VAELA's programs in order to become more involved in this organization. I believe that VAELA serves a very important purpose in educating and supporting the elder law community and I am proud to be a member and volunteer.
Sarah serves as a member of the Education Committee.
